the Quiet before the Storm

May, its a sleeper month, I have so much that will be going on starting in June that it feels like right now is borrowed time. I have the first three weekends in June booked for weddings, then June 2nd is Brian's graduation party, and his graduation is june 3rd. I'm so proud of him. He also got a new position at work and although I hate his new schedule(3pm-Midnight), once again, I am extremely proud of him. He is now the Supervisor of the 2nd shift unloading team, so he's got a lot of responsibility. Its a big change for him, but I know he'll do great.

Also, in news, my sister in law, Becky, is pregnant with her third child, due in December. My sister Joyce, is having a baby boy, and will be visiting in June. There's a chance that I will be there for the birth of her baby, I'm so excited about this idea that its unreal.

As for me, I've cut fried foods out of my diet(except for the occasional cheat day) and have only been drinking water, Hopefully that will help some of this weight to fall off. As soon as my foot is healed fully, excercise will begin again.

How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on... when in your heart you begin to understand... there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend... some hurts that go too deep... that have taken hold

Fuck Father's day.

I'm feeling a bit lost...everytime I think I'm starting to make progess in putting everything that happened with Josh behind us, it seems to bubble back up again.  I know we will never truely get over the fact that he has left this world, it all still seems so alien.

I have a lot of things I want to write about, and I have every intention of doing so, but when it comes time to sit down and do it, i feel stunted.

Writer's Block: Star struck

Why do people care so much about the private lives of celebrities? Is it idol worship, schadenfreude, or something entirely different?

I think it has somethign to do with feeling insecure about themselves.  Its nice to know that those 'perfect people' with everything, make mistakes to.

Writer's Block: Family Is…

What does family mean to you?

Considering most of my blood family and I aren't close...honestly, the best way I can put it is from a movie quote from Jackie Chan in "The spy next door"

'Family isn't who's blood you care, rather who loves you,and who you love back."

you are probably so sick of me!!!!

October, I'm walking 60 miles, which is approx. 120,000 steps!!

I'm walking to so that one day, there will be an end to Breast Cancer.

If you were diagnosed with Breast Cancer, wouldn't you want someone to walk for you?

Has your life been effected by Breast Cancer?

Sussan G. Komen died from Breast Cancer, and when she did, her sister promised her that she would do everything in her power to end this form of cancer forever. What if you could be a part of that cure? The Susan G. Komen foundation doesn't only do researce to end Cancer, they also help families in need with the costs of treatment, recovery, etc. In these hard times, its nice to know that there is help.

Thats where you come in! Even a donation as small as 5 dollars will help! Please help! As a walker in the 3 Day, we are asked to raise 2300 dollars, they put us up for two nights and feed us, that is why the amount is so high. So that they actually get money for research.

Please help! Make a donation for a family memeber, for your daughter, for yourself. Lets do everything we can to end this, so that no family will ever have to feel that loss again.

Thank you.

This year, I've decided to do something major, something for someone else, something that could effect everyone who reads this lives. This year, I've decided to donate my body, my time and my heart to making a difference in someone else's life. Every year Breast Cancer claims to many mothers, daughters, sisters and wives. Every year that passes without a cure makes it that much more important that we find one as soon as we can. This year, I'm taking part in a Sixty Mile Walk. Its so long that it will take me three days to make it. These sixty miles I dedicate to every woman who had to leave her children, to every child who has lost their mother, to every parent who has lost their child, to every family that has had to fight this disease.... I dedicate my Sixty miles to those who survived and those who are no longer with us. Together we can make a difference. Please donate to my cause, even a donation as little as 5 dollars will make a difference in someone's life.

In 2007, breast cancer accounted for nearly one out of every four cancer diagnoses in women.

A new breast cancer case is diagnosed every 2.2 minutes.

Every woman is at risk for breast cancer.

Men develop breast cancer, too, although they account for approximately 1% of cases. In 2007 an estimated 2,030 cases were diagnosed among men

A woman dies from breast cancer every 13 minutes.

89% of women diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago are still alive.

Together, lets put an end to Breast Cancer for good...one step at a time.

Tonight was beautiful. I wish I would have had a camera on me. I got off work around 6 and I was driving, snow falling every which way and I just had to smile. It was so beautiful.
